Blessed Christmas to all! But how quickly time moves on. This Sunday we celebrate the Epiphany (or manifestation) of our Lord. The readings are – Matthew 2:1-12; Ephesians 3:1-12; Isaiah 60:1-6; Psalm 72.

The birth of Jesus Christ brought joy to many Israelites who welcomed him as their Savior. But God’s plan was bigger than they thought. The arrival of magi from the East ( Matt 2) – prophesied by Isaiah (Is 60) – would be just the first of many signs that Jesus was born to be the Savior of people from every nation on earth.

Strong barriers still exist today among people on the basis of language, race, politics, etc.  But the power of the Gospel can break through these barriers so long as there are people who believe it and are willing to live in the boldness and confidence of this message (Eph 3).
