This week at Sr. High Youth Group we’re going to be starting a new 3-week series called Relationships: Life with the people we love, hate, and tolerate. We’ll be talking about the different relationships we have in our lives, and how we’re called to act in the those relationships.
We’ll be focusing on three main sets of relationships: Friends, Family, and Romantic. This week we’ll be starting with friends-
What makes good friends? Bad friends? How do we have meaningful, lasting friendships in our lives, especially as we get older and making (and keeping) friends becomes harder. We’ll explore 3 important behaviors of healthy friendships and what they mean, and what God’s Word has to say on the subject:
Humility- Philippians 2:1-18
Intimacy- Philippians 1:3-11
Love- John 15:9-17
On an unrelated note- I mentioned to the students last week and they (hopefully) relayed the information to you: Our youth group has been challenged to a laser tag battle this Saturday, November 7th at 3pm by the Messiah Lutheran Youth Group (which is being led by our DCE Practicum student from last year, Kade Clark) and to a dinner at IHOP afterwards. Your students laser tag admission will be covered, but they will need to bring money for dinner. I’ll be asking for a firm RSVP at youth group and will then be arranging transportation, if anyone would like to volunteer.
Thanks everyone. Blessings on your week!
