Hi everyone, I pray this email finds you all safe and well following yesterday’s outbreak of severe weather. The Scripture that kept coming to my mind through the sirens and radio reports was from Psalm 46: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear…though the waters roar and foam…Be still and know that I am God.” What a miracle that in the midst of the storms God was indeed a refuge for those in trouble. I personally haven’t heard of any serious injuries or loss of life from last night’s storms, despite all the damage.

And now we have the opportunity to be the hands and feet and voice of Christ — praying, feeding, cleaning, comforting, etc. Please continue to pray for those affected, especially the residents of Beaver Crossing and Cordova. And please keep an ear out for any way our church can be involved in helping. I know there’ve been a lot of individual efforts already, as well as 100 sack lunches and bags of ice we were able to send in a Centennial van to Cordova this morning. No doubt the coming days will provide more opportunities to serve. What a wonderful community we have with so many people coming together to help their neighbors in time of trouble. God be with you!
